“NASA’s Roman Space Telescope, launching in late 2026, is the agency’s next flagship astrophysics mission. Featuring the Wide Field Instrument (WFI), Roman will provide Hubble-like resolution across a 0.28 deg² field with 8 imaging filters and wide-field slitless spectroscopy. A Coronagraph demonstration will capture high-contrast images of Jupiter-like planets around Sun-like stars. Roman will survey the sky 1,000 times faster than Hubble, exploring dark energy and expanding the exoplanet census. With no proprietary time, its data will push the boundaries of nearly every astrophysical field. This talk will explore Roman’s scientific goals and the collaborative efforts driving its development.”
