DESCRIPTION:The Political Economy Reading Program is an extracurricular\, 
 non-credit reading program in which students participate in weekly discuss
 ions about topics in economics and political economy. Participants that su
 ccessfully complete the program receive a $1\,000 scholarship.  The Free
  Market Institute (FMI) is currently accepting applications for an invitat
 ion to participate in the Fall 2026 Political Economy Reading Program. All
  full-time undergraduate students from any field of study at Texas Tech Un
 iversity are eligible and encouraged to apply for an invitation to partici
 pate.  The program will begin with an introductory meeting\, followed by
  ten (10) regular discussion meetings to be scheduled for Mondays and Thur
 sdays from 5:00-6:15 PM between August 24\, 2026 and October 8\, 2026.  
 Participants will also attend a mandatory multi-school summit at Texas Tec
 h University (TTU). Participants will interact with students from Angelo S
 tate University (ASU) participating in a similar reading program.  To ap
