The Texas Tech School of Veterinary Medicine warmly invites small ruminant producers and those interested in small ruminant parasite management to interact with faculty member Dr. Philipa (Pippa) Gibbons, who is hosting an event at our large animal facility on October 4, 2025. Sustainable Parasite Control with FAMACHA Certification will include a lecture, lab, and lunch. Course development also provided by faculty member Dr. Michelle Buckley.

You can expect to listen to a parasite management talk from Dr. Gibbons; perform fecal egg counts with microscopes; get hands-on experience with FAMACHA and body conditioning scoring on live sheep and goats; receive your own FAMACHA card; and become certified in the FAMACHA scoring process. Lunch is provided during a Q&A.

Clean coveralls and boots that can be disinfected must be worn to participate. Register by Sunday, September 28.
