NAOHUN First Scientific Meeting
“Synergizing the Impact of One Health”
November 6th and 7th 2026

Hosted by Texas Tech University

School of Veterinary Medicine, Amarillo, Texas

Welcome to the First Scientific Annual Meeting of NAOHUN

The North America One Health University Network is a growing collaborative network that connects One Health programs across North America, bringing together approximately 90 universities throughout the United States, Canada, and Mexico, along with a variety of non-academic partners. NAOHUN’s mission is to synergize the activities of One Health programs across North American universities by enhancing collaboration, strengthening communication, and amplifying the impact of initiatives that promote the health of people, animals, plants, and the ecosystems they share. Its vision is to serve as the preeminent network linking university programs across multiple sectors, disciplines, and communities to advance One Health throughout North America.

Following two successful organizational meetings — the first hosted by Colorado State University in August 2024 and the second virtual meeting was organized by North Carolina State University in September 2025 — the North America One Health University Network is excited to host its first Scientific Annual Meeting on November 6–7, 2026, in Amarillo at the Texas Tech University School of Veterinary Medicine.

This inaugural conference will bring together scientists, educators, healthcare professionals, policymakers, practitioners, and students from across the United States, Canada, and Mexico to advance collaboration and amplify the impact of One Health initiatives across North America. Attendees representing all career stages — from students and early-career professionals to senior leaders — are invited to share the latest innovations and discoveries in research, education, service, advocacy, and policy.

The meeting will showcase the collective impact of NAOHUN members and provide opportunities to build meaningful partnerships, exchange ideas, and explore solutions to today’s most pressing One Health challenges.

The conference is partially supported by the Institute for One Health Innovation (IOHI), a collaborative initiative of Texas Tech University and Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center. IOHI is dedicated to advancing transdisciplinary research, training future scientists and health professionals, and developing innovative approaches to improve human, animal, and environmental health. The meeting will take place at the Texas Tech University School of Veterinary Medicine campus, which serves the veterinary education and healthcare needs of rural and regional communities while providing access to affordable, high-quality education.
