Southwest Section of The American Association Annual Meeting, Texas Tech University in Lubbock, Texas
The organizing committee of SWAAG 2026 invites scientists, researchers, and professionals to submit abstracts for its annual meeting taking place 30 September to 3 October 2026 in Lubbock Texas.
Held annually, SWAAG offers an opportunity for the Geography and Geospatial community of the Southwest to gather and share their research and foster interdisciplinary dialogue. Abstracts are welcomed from across the spectrum of Geography and will be scheduled into parallel sessions dedicated to general themes. We are also interested in submissions that directly contribute to three key themes:
• When the Plains Speak: Aeolian Geographies of Memory and Movement in honor and celebration of Prof. Jeff Lee.
• Mapping What Matters
• Wide Open Horizons: People and Place in the American Southwest
Final Submission Deadline: 5:00 PM (CST) on Tuesday 8th September, 2026
Abstracts should be prepared using the SWAAG 2026-Abstract-Template and submitted via the "Submit new abstract" button on this page. An Indico account is required for abstract submission. Users will be prompted to sign in or create an account after clicking the "Submit new abstract" button.
Abstracts will only be accepted and scheduled in the program when a conference registration by the presenting author is verified.
