About the Competition
Sigma Pi Sigma and GRASP invite students to participate in the 8th Annual Department of Physics and Astronomy Poster Competition. All students involved in research are strongly encouraged to participate.
The competition is an excellent opportunity to practice presenting your research, receive constructive feedback, and refine your poster before the TSAPS meeting on November 6–8 or other upcoming conferences.

Important Deadlines
Abstract submission: Friday, October 2, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. Central Time
Poster PDF submission: Friday, October 23, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. Central Time
Poster Requirements
Posters should be designed for a 36 × 48-inch format and should use a university-approved template.

Presentations and Judging
Participants will present their posters in person. Each poster will be evaluated by multiple judges using the competition rubric, and the completed evaluations will be used to identify the top posters in each division.
Uploading an Accepted Poster
After your abstract has been accepted:
Open the Contributions List from the event page.
Select your contribution.
Choose Add Material.
Upload your poster as a PDF.
Please upload your final poster by the October 23 deadline.
Information for Judges and Spectators
The competition will begin with a brief welcome and introduction. Judges and spectators are then invited to visit the posters that interest them most and speak with the presenters.
Some presenters may have scheduling conflicts and may not be available throughout the entire event. If a presenter is temporarily unavailable, please return to the poster later.
