Description

This analysis presented a search for narrow resonances in high-mass dijet events
with masses above 1.4 TeV. The search was performed using Run 3 2024-2025
data collected by the CMS experiment at the LHC from proton-proton colli-
sions at √s = 13.6 TeV, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 197f b−1.
The analysis targeted heavy resonances that decayed into quark pairs, which
hadronized into jets and were reconstructed as high-mass dijet systems. Jets
containing b-hadrons were identified using the Unified Particle Transformer al-
gorithm, a state-of-the-art deep learning b-tagger that improved discrimination
between b-quark jets and lighter-flavor jets. The improved identification of b-
quark jets enhanced the sensitivity of the search to potential heavy resonance
signals. Using this b-tagged dijet data we are able to search for models of excited
bottom quarks (b*) and heavy vector bosons (Z’).
